SARVARC Send for Review: Get Live Comments on Any Design, Document or Presentation Before the Meeting

SARVARC Blog
SARVARC Workspace Review tab with three numbered comments pinned on a document

It is the night before the meeting. The deck is ready, but the feedback is not. One comment sits in an email, another in WhatsApp, a third is a screenshot with a red circle, and the fourth is a voice note that says "the second slide, the thing on the right."

SARVARC Send for Review ends that. You turn the file you already have into one link. Anyone you send it to clicks the exact spot they mean and writes the comment right there, on the work itself. You watch the comments arrive, fix them, and send the next version on the same link.

Quick answer

SARVARC Send for Review lets you share any design, document, proposal or presentation (saved as a PDF) through one link. Reviewers click the exact spot they mean and leave a comment, with no account needed. Comments appear live on the work inside SARVARC Workspace, so you can fix them, tick them Done and send the next version without changing the link.

In this guide, "reviewer" means anyone you send the link to: a client, a teammate, a manager, a teacher or a colleague who needs to approve changes before the minutes go out.

What Is SARVARC Send for Review?

SARVARC Send for Review is a feature of the SARVARC Workspace. It collects feedback on anything you can save as a PDF: a design, a document, a proposal, a report or a slide deck. You share one link, and reviewers comment directly on the pages.

It has two sides:

  • For you: a Send for Review button in the Workspace Editor that makes a link, and a Review tab beside your document where every comment appears, numbered and placed on the page.
  • For your reviewer: a clean page where they click a spot, write what should change, and send. They do not need an account.

Think of it as sticky notes on a printed page, except the page is a link and the notes arrive on their own.

What Do "Live Comments on Your Work" Mean?

People often ask whether this is a chat, a shared editor or an email replacement. It is none of those, and the difference is the point.

  • On the work, not about it. A comment is pinned to a numbered spot on the page. Nobody has to guess which logo, which line or which slide.
  • Live, without refreshing. New comments show up on the work on their own, on both sides. Nothing to reload, nothing to forward, nothing to re-send.
  • One shared view. Everyone with the link sees the same pins and comments, so two people do not send the same note twice or contradict each other without noticing.
  • You stay in control. Reviewers can comment but cannot change your file. Only you edit the work and send a new version.

What a reviewer sees on a laptop: one click drops a pin, and the comment sits right on the work.

Where Can You Use Send for Review? Five Real Situations

If you have ever said "just send me your thoughts," you already have a use for it. Here are five moments where it saves the most time.

1. How do you get feedback on a presentation before the meeting?

Save your slides as a PDF, send one link to the people who need to approve them, and ask them to click on whatever they want changed. Your manager points at the chart on slide four and writes "use last quarter's number." Your colleague points at the title and writes "too long." By the time you open your Review tab, every note is already on its slide, numbered, in order.

You fix the deck, tick each comment Done, and walk into the meeting with nothing left to chase. Once it is approved, add page transitions and present it live.

2. How do you collect design feedback without the "which logo?" call?

Export the layout, the brand sheet or the social post as a PDF and send the link. The client clicks on the headline and says "a touch bigger." They click on the photo and say "swap this one." Each comment is pinned to the element it is about, so you never have to ask what they meant.

When round two is ready, send the new version on the same link and use Compare to show exactly what changed. To give the final visuals a strong first look, try SARVARC Showcase.

3. How do you collect changes before the minutes go out?

After a meeting, the minutes are usually a draft that someone has to chase everyone about. Send the draft minutes as a link instead. Each person clicks on their own action item or on a decision they remember differently, and writes the correction there. You get one numbered list of changes, all in one place, before you send the final version.

The same works for agreements, policies and handover notes: anything people should agree on before it becomes official.

4. How do you review a proposal or quotation with a client?

Before a client says yes, they usually have one or two questions about a price line or a scope sentence. Instead of an email saying "item three, please explain," they click on item three and ask. You answer with a note on the same spot, and they see your reply on the page.

When everything is settled, you can send the final PDF for signature with SARVARC Sign.

5. How can a team review one document without five email threads?

For a report, a policy or a brochure, send one link to the whole team. Everyone sees the same pins, each comment carries the name its author typed, and nobody repeats a note that is already there. You work through the list from top to bottom, and the Done ticks show the whole team what is left.

In every one of these, the pattern is the same: share one link, collect notes on the work itself, fix, and send the next version.

How Does Send for Review Work, Step by Step?

From your side it takes about a minute.

  1. Open your work in the SARVARC Workspace Editor and finish it the way you normally would. Designs, documents and slides all work once they are saved as a PDF.
  2. Click Send for Review. Check the name your reviewer will see, choose how long the link stays open (for example 7 days), and press Publish link. Workspace gives you a link to copy.
  3. Share the link by email, WhatsApp or any chat. Anyone you send it to can open it.
  4. Your reviewer opens it, clicks the exact spot on the page, writes a comment, and sends it.
  5. You see it. A red count appears on the Send for Review button and a notice tells you who commented and what they wrote. Open the Review tab and the comment is listed with its pin on the page.
  6. Fix, tick, repeat. Mark each comment Done as you go. When you are ready, send the updated file on the same link.

That last point matters. The link never changes, so your reviewer always opens the same address and always sees your latest version.

What Does Your Reviewer See?

Your reviewer sees your work and nothing else: no menus to learn, no sign-up wall, no software to install.

  • No account. They type their name once and the page remembers it on that device.
  • Click, then write. One click on the page drops a pin. A small box asks, "What should change here?" They write and press Send comment.
  • Numbered pins. Every comment gets a number that matches a list beside the page, so nobody has to scroll to find it again.
  • Their own notes stay editable. Until you mark a note Done, they can drag its pin to a better spot or delete it. Arrow keys nudge a pin for precise placement.
  • Your notes appear too. If you add a note on the page, such as "Photo swapped for the approved one," the reviewer sees it, marked as coming from the sender.
  • Always current. The page updates itself and reloads when you send a new version.

The page also works on a phone, which is where many reviewers first open a link. If you work from your phone too, see when to use mobile and when to use desktop. A switch in the top bar changes it between the dark and light SARVARC look, and the choice is remembered on that device.

How Do You Manage the Comments in Workspace?

Open the Review tab in the Workspace Editor's right panel. The editor stays usable beside it, so you can read a comment and fix the page without switching screens.

  • A list with progress. A card at the top shows the version that is live and a "1 of 3 done" count. Every comment below has a tick box, and new ones carry a NEW tag.
  • Jump to the spot. Click a comment and the editor scrolls to that page and shows a pin where your reviewer pointed.
  • Tick Done. Finished comments are crossed out and turn slate grey, so what is left is obvious.
  • Add your own note. Click Add note on page, click the spot, type, and press Add note. Use it to answer a question or explain a choice.
  • Pins never leak into your PDF. They appear only while the Review tab is open and are never in the exported file.

The same panel holds your + Note on page button, Compare for versions and a Refresh button. The red count on the Send for Review button tells you when something new has arrived, even while you work elsewhere in Workspace.

How Do Versions and Compare Work?

Feedback rarely ends after one round. Send for Review is built for round two, three and four.

When you send an updated file, the link stays the same and the version number goes up: Version 1, Version 2, Version 3. The reviewer's page shows the version in its top bar and reloads itself so nobody keeps reviewing an old file.

The server keeps the previous version too, which powers Compare versions. It opens a full-screen view with the old and new versions side by side, so you can show a client exactly what changed instead of describing it. Comments from earlier rounds stay with the version they were written on, and appear in an Older list in your Review tab.

One practical tip: pins sit on the version the reviewer saw. If you add or delete pages before sending the next version, an old pin can land on a different page, so check the Older list when you restructure a document.

Where Is My File Stored? A Plain-Language Privacy Note

Most of SARVARC Workspace processes your files on your own device. Send for Review is different, and it is worth being clear about why: for your reviewer to open the work from a link, the file has to be stored online while the link is live.

Here is what that means in practice:

  • Anyone with the link can see the work. That includes the comments and your own notes. Share the link only with the people who should see it.
  • You are in control. Choose Take offline in the Send for Review box and the file and all its comments are deleted from the server.
  • The sender can pause a link, and a link can expire. Visitors then see a calm "Not open right now" or "Link expired" page instead of your work.
  • Reviewers leave no account. They type a name and a comment. A random key kept on their own device is how the page knows which notes are theirs.

For confidential work, share it only with the people who need it and take the link offline once the review is finished.

How Does Send for Review Connect to the Rest of SARVARC Workspace?

Send for Review lives inside the Workspace Editor, so everything you can do to a page can happen before or after the review: edit text, add tables and links, crop, reorder pages, annotate.

A typical flow looks like this:

  1. Build the document in the Editor, or generate a report with one-click, zero-formatting reports.
  2. Send for Review and collect pinned feedback.
  3. Apply the changes, tick the comments Done, and send the next version on the same link.
  4. When everyone approves, send the final PDF for signature with SARVARC Sign.
  5. Export your work in the format you need.

Review, approval and signature stay in one workspace. You never export, re-upload and re-explain, and your reviewer always sees your name and brand rather than a stranger's tool.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to get feedback on a design, document or presentation?

Share it as one link where reviewers can comment directly on the page. With SARVARC Send for Review, each reviewer clicks the exact spot they mean and writes the comment there. You see numbered pins in SARVARC Workspace instead of scattered emails and screenshots.

Can I collect comments on a presentation before a meeting?

Yes. Save the slides as a PDF, send the link, and reviewers pin their notes on the exact slides. You fix them, tick them Done and send the updated version on the same link before the meeting starts.

Are the comments really live?

Yes. New comments appear on the page on their own, for you and for the reviewer, without anyone refreshing or re-sending anything.

Can several people comment on the same file?

Yes. Everyone with the link sees the same pins and comments, and each comment shows the name its author typed.

Can I use it for meeting minutes or agreements?

Yes. Send the draft as a link, and each person pins their correction on the line it concerns. You get one list of changes before you issue the final version.

Does a reviewer need an account?

No. They open the link, type their name once, and start commenting.

What can I send, and how large can it be?

You send the PDF from the Workspace Editor, up to 3 MB, the same limit as SARVARC Sign.

How many comments can a review hold?

Up to 300 comments, each up to 1,000 characters.

Can reviewers see each other's comments?

Yes. Anyone with the link can see the work and every comment, including your own notes. Share the link only with people who should see all of it.

Can the reviewer edit or delete a comment?

Their own notes, yes: they can drag a pin to a new spot or delete it until you mark it Done. They cannot change anyone else's.

Do the pins appear in my exported PDF?

No. Pins show only while the Review tab is open and never end up in the exported file.

What happens when I send a new version?

The link stays the same, the version number goes up, and the reviewer's page reloads on its own. Earlier comments stay with the version they were written on.

Can I compare the old and new versions?

Yes. Compare versions opens both side by side in a full-screen view.

How do I stop sharing?

Use Take offline in the Send for Review box, or let the link expire after the number of days you chose. Take offline deletes the file and all its comments from the server.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The reviewer's page is built for phones as well as desktops, and reviewers can choose the dark or light look.

Will I know when someone comments?

Yes. A red count appears on the Send for Review button and a notice shows while Workspace is open. Email alerts are not available yet.

The Bottom Line

Good feedback is specific. "Make it pop" is a mood; a pin on one headline with a note beside it is a task. Send for Review turns scattered opinions into a numbered list you can tick off, on the page they refer to, in one link that never changes.

That saves you the chase, saves reviewers the explaining, and makes each round of changes shorter than the last. Whether it is a deck before the meeting, a design before launch or the minutes before they go out, the changes are settled before the moment that matters.
